Lagos, Nigeria — FEBRUARY 2026

I still remember the first time I made a computer do something, solving Fizzbuzz with python. I felt like Richard hendricks in the Silicon Valley show. I felt powerful and i felt like i'd finally found my craft. For someone who had tried and failed to learn to draw, doesn't have the internal rythm to be able to play a drum set, FizzBuzz made me feel like an artist.

I discovered I liked fancy websites. I liked springy animations, and i loved the dopamine of seeing what you built immediately rendered on the screen. I played around with every frontend library i could, mastering the dom, what good user experience felt like and how not to use React's UseEffect hook.

I wasn't satisfied with just knowing one part. I needed to understand what APIs were, learn and then immediately forget how to fix CORS errors, and learn about databases and system design diagramming with Mermaid. I also learnt to deploy apps using containers, K8s, etc. When to use a Queue, when Redis was overkill and how to think about a designing a product from ground up.

And now I am, like many others, figuring out how my craft is changing with AI. Playing around with agents, MCP servers, knowledge graphs, and when statistical ML models are good enough. My goal is to become a research engineer, and the portion of my time not bought by capitalism is spent on achieving this goal.

Every week, I write about what I'm learning. If you're curious about software, AI, or the strange art of making machines think—welcome.
